The name of a region, "la Mauricie" ["the Mauricie Region" or "the region of the Saint-Maurice River", as such an uninhabited place; the specific in "La Mauricie National Park (Que.)", a national park managed by Parks Canada. Only "Mauricie" appears in the Gazetteer, hence the uncapitalized "la" in the French toponym; the same article at the beginning of the toponym in English requires the capital letter. Similarly, at the start of a line or in a list in French, one should write "La Mauricie". In Quebec, names of regions do not have English forms and usage requires that the designation of a region be preceded by an article, even if the article is not part of the official entry of that name in the "Répertoire toponymique du Québec". 1, record 43, English, - Mauricie

6, record 43, French, - Mauricie
