[...] Ainsi, dans certains contextes, «attributions» pourrait à lui seul rendre tout le groupe «powers, duties, functions and responsibilities». Dans d’autres, il rendrait très bien «responsibilities» seul, de même que «mission» ou «mandat» pourrait correspondre à tout ou partie de «duties, powers and responsibilities». Quant au mot «fonction», il équivaut aussi bien, à l’occasion, à «functions» qu’à «duties», surtout lorsque ce dernier terme désigne les éléments d’une analyse de poste. C’est donc toujours le contexte de la notion à exprimer qui doit guider le légiste dans le choix du terme juste.
