Regulatory enzymes occupy key positions in metabolic pathways. The structural elements needed to make a regulatory enzyme are used with great selectivity and imposed only on those enzymes with which it will result in the maximum economy of the cell's resources. An understanding of a particular multienzyme pathway usually suggests which enzymes might make attractive candidates for regulation. For example, many biosynthetic pathways involve a long chain of single chemical steps, each carried out by a discrete enzyme. ... It is obviously most economical for the first enzyme of the pathway to be inhibited once sufficient end product is present. 3, record 50, English, - regulatory%20enzyme

During the course of my mandate, I have had the opportunity to travel quite extensively across the country and I have observed that Canadians, both English and French-speaking, have a strong attachment to and identify with the City of Ottawa. Founded in December 1948, The Association changed its name several times over the years, becoming the Quebec Outfitters Federation Inc. (QOF) in December 2002. This name was adopted for many reasons, including to raise the awareness of its clientele from Quebec, the rest of Canada and abroad about the significance of the term "outfitter". Today, the QOF, a non-profit organization recognized by the government of Quebec, is a group of 400 outfitters that share a great love of the province's wilderness areas, which they seek to promote as an easily accessible vacation destination. 1, record 71, English, - Quebec%20Outfitters%20Federation%20Inc%2E

Fluorescence immunoassays (FIA) are analogous to radio immunoassays, but substitute fluoresceinated reagents for the radiolabelled material. The method has the advantage that fluorescent reagents may be detected instantaneously, but problems can arise with the intrinsic fluorescence of the test material and also with the availability of suitable reagents. Some fluorescent reagents respond differently when they are bound to antibody and when free. In this case it is not necessary to separate bound and free fractions of the fluorescent reagent. 1, record 99, English, - fluorescence%20immunoassay
