Northern Spy, Yellow Transparent, Delicious, and other upright growing varieties are sometimes difficult to train because almost every main limb tends to grow upright. A special practice sometimes used is to train these branches into outward-growing laterals by bending or tying them down. This is done by driving a staple into the trunk near the ground and tying a piece of heavy cord or binder twine (not wire) from the staple to the end of the limb, using a loose loop on the branch.  4, record 1, English, - tying%20down

EVA Gloves (left and right). If you look at the bottom of an EVA glove, you'll see that it has a ring. This ring is used to snap onto the sleeve of the upper torso. It also contains a wrist bearing that is used to help the astronaut rotate his hand. On the opposite end of the glove are rubber finger caps. The scientists chose silicone rubber so that the astronauts could have some sense of touch when working with equipment and tools. Along the gloves are loops. Tethers connected to small tools can be latched onto the loops to prevent the items from floating off into space. Gants pour EVA(gauche et droit). Si on regarde au bout d’un gant EVA, on voit un anneau. Cet anneau sert à fixer le gant à la manche du torse supérieur. Il comprend aussi un roulement pour le poignet, qui aide l'astronaute à faire la rotation des mains. À l'autre bout du gant, on observe un recouvrement de caoutchouc au bout des doigts. Les scientifiques ont choisi le silicone pour donner à l'astronaute un sens du toucher lorsqu'il travaille son équipement et ses outils. De petits anneaux sont [répartis] sur les gants afin d’y attacher de petits outils à l'aide de cordons. Ceci évite que les outils ne flottent librement dans l'espace.
