3, record 11, French, - tourisme%20humanitaire

Ottawa, Canadian Heritage. Compiled by international heritage law experts, Dr. Patrick J. O'Keefe and Professor Lyndel V. Prott, the Heritage Law Bibliography is a source of a great deal of bibliographic information pertaining to legal issues surrounding cultural and natural heritage in about 100 countries. Citations are drawn from the international literature and include books, journal articles, conference proceedings, reports of litigation, and government documents. This database grew out of research by Dr. O'Keefe and Professor Prott for their five-volume series, Law and the Cultural Heritage. Topics include the theft of artifacts, repatriation, and the unlawful trade in cultural goods. This database is a current and exhaustive guide to literature on the heritage laws in various jurisdictions. Data remain in the languages in which they were recorded. 1, record 13, English, - Heritage%20Law%20Bibliography

Carbonation occurs when carbon dioxide is dissolved in water or an aqueous solution. This process is generally represented by the following reaction, where water and gaseous carbon dioxide react to form a dilute solution of carbonic acid. [H2O + CO2= H2CO3] This process yields the "frizz", to carbonated water, the head to beer, and the cork pop and bubbles to champagne and sparkling wine. Carbonation is used to improve both the taste and "texture" of the carbonated consumable. Carbonation is sometimes used for reasons other than consumption, to lower the pH (raise the hydrogen ion concentration) of a water solution ... 2, record 16, English, - carbonation

Ottawa, Canadian Heritage. Generally, "Religious Objects" are used in a context of worship. They deal with a religious subject or have religious symbolism. Religious objects are also associated with members of the church community, for instance, religious orders, nuns or priests. Religious objects adorn places of worship and are used in devotions or in ceremonies. They may also be found outside the walls of a church, in a house or in a cemetery, or as in the case with the objects presented here, in a museum. The Religious Objects Database contains more than 300 records of objects with corresponding images. Through these objects and the relevant information which accompanies each, you will discover the richness of a cultural and religious heritage. Hypermedia is believed to hold great promise and potential for learning and instruction. Hypermedia environment is considered to be a flexible instructional environment in which all the learning needs can be addressed (Ayersman & Minden, 1995). Theorists believe that hypermedia-assisted instruction has advantages such as: (1) engaging learners in the acquisition and use of information, (2) supporting multiple instructional uses and tasks (tutoring, research, etc.) (Spiro et al. 1987) and (3) promoting the mapping of an expert's knowledge structure onto learners' knowledge structure (Jonassen, 1993) 2, record 25, English, - hypermedia%20environment

3, record 26, French, - tic%20%C3%A0%20l%26rsquo%3Bappui

Crib-biting and wind-sucking are different varieties of the same vice, which are learned chiefly by young horses. In each case the horse swallows air. A 'crib-biter' effects this by grasping the edge of the manger or some other convenient fixture with the incisor teeth; it then raises the floor of the mouth; the soft palate is forced open; a swallowing movement occurs; and a gulp of air is passed down the gullet into the stomach. A 'wind-sucker' achieves the same end, but it does not require a resting-place for the teeth. ... Some horses which have been crib-biters learn to wind-suck when remedial measures are taken, and there are some wind-suckers which learn to crib-bite. 2, record 48, English, - crib

1, record 48, French, - tiquer%20%C3%A0%20l%26rsquo%3Bappui
