7, record 12, French, - nanomat%C3%A9riau

5, record 20, French, - g%C3%A9ologie%20du%20socle%20rocheux

A hexapod robot is a mechanical vehicle that walks on six legs. Since a robot can be statically stable on three or more legs, a hexapod robot has a great deal of flexibility in how it can move. If legs become disabled, the robot may still be able to walk. Furthermore, not all of the robot's legs are needed for stability; other legs are free to reach new foot placements or manipulate a payload. Many hexapod robots are biologically inspired by Hexapoda locomotion. Hexapods may be used to test biological theories about insect locomotion, motor control, and neurology. 2, record 21, English, - hexapod%20robot

2, record 21, French, - robot%20hexapode

Most beginners believe pond filters remove physical dirt and keep the water sparkling clear. This is not quite the case. Filters will certainly remove some physical dirt but only dirt that gets pumped into them. Most physical waste such as fish waste, excess food or decaying organic material will fall to the bottom of the pond where it will start breaking down into toxins. This is where filters start doing their work as a mini sewerage system for the pond. 2, record 24, English, - pond%20filter

Extruded polystyrene [XEPS] foam begins with solid polystyrene crystals. The crystals, along with special additives and a blowing agent, are fed into an extruder. Within the extruder the mixture is combined and melted, under controlled conditions of high temperature and pressure, into a viscous plastic fluid. The hot, thick liquid is then forced in a continuous process through a die. As it emerges from the die it expands to a foam, is shaped, cooled, and trimmed to dimension. This continuous extrusion process results in a unique foam product with a uniform closed-cell structure, a smooth continuous skin, and consistent product qualities, qualities unequaled by other insulation types. 6, record 39, English, - extruded%20polystyrene%20foam

1, record 41, French, - ciment%2Dcolle

In the context of chemistry, the term refers to the representation of the electronic structure of a molecular system in terms of contributing structures. Resonance among contributing structures means that the wave function is approximately represented by "mixing" the wave functions of contributing structures. The concept is the basis of the quantum-mechanical valence bond method. The resulting stabilization is linked to the quantum-mechanical concept of resonance energy. Mechanically bonded geotextiles are formed by deliberately entangling the filaments to form comparatively loose bonds where the filaments cross over. As the process used to achieve this mechanical bond is known as "needle-punching" these geotextiles may also be referred to as needle-punched geotextiles. Needle-punching involves repeatedly driving thousands of barbed needles into the loose sheet of polymer filaments. 1, record 58, English, - mechanically%20bonded%20geotextile

A New generation ground guidance and docking system for large commercial aeroplanes has been installed at Charles De Gaulle International Airport at Roissy [It is called] UCRAFT. UCRAFT guides and stops aircraft in line with contact of nose-in fixed passenger boarding gangway. It is a system based on robotics, mechanics and hydraulics. Like an arm with a finger, it can guide and stop any present or future type of aircraft, whether it is on the same axis or on a different axis, making the centre line of aeroplane doors coincide exactly with the centre line of the fixed gangways. 1, record 60, English, - UCRAFT

1, record 60, French, - UCRAFT

P and W [Pratt and Whitney] has managed to defend its position in the 747 market by offering the JT9D-7Q [engine] combining the machinery of the -70 with a core-mounted gearbox and a slimmer cowling. However, although this engine has been successful on the 747, it is basically too large and heavy for the 200-seater, being optimised for a starting thrust of 24,000 kg (53,000 lb). 1, record 63, English, - starting%20thrust

1, record 63, French, - pouss%C3%A9e%20nominale%20de%20base

Many clarifiers have devices to stir the bottom of the sludge blanket by mechanical means. The immediate consequence is the destruction of the floc already formed (destruction due to the thixotropic properties of the sludge), a reduction in the concentration of solid matter in the sludge blanket and the formation of eddies which tend to move towards the top of the clarifier. 1, record 64, English, - thixotropic%20property
