First layer, second skin – your outer layers are useless without a good base, one that promotes both warmth and moisture transfer. The best base layer fabrics are synthetics such as polyester and polypropylene, as they conduct moisture away from the skin and into the protective layer or into the air. Do not wear cotton as a base layer. Cotton holds moisture, which then facilitates the rapid transfer of body heat, causing your core temperature to drop. 1, record 1, English, - base%20layer

2, record 1, French, - couche%20de%20base

A built-up roofing consists of plies or layers of roofing felt bonded together on site with hot bitumen. A protective surface coating of gravel or slag is sometimes embedded in a heavy top coating of hot bitumen. It is laid down to conform to the roof deck, and to protect all angles formed by the roof deck with projecting surfaces, and forms a single-unit flexible waterproofed membrane fastened to the deck by cementing and nailing. The simple principle on flat roofs is to turn the membrane up to form a skirting or base flashing on the vertical surfaces, making a large watertight tray. The only outlets from this tray are the roof drains to dispose of water. 3, record 4, English, - build%2Dup%20roofing

Weather protection fabrics are usually coated or laminated on just one side (either inside or outside) with a microporous coating or membrane. The coating blocks water from penetrating through its microscopic pores, but allows easy passage of sweat vapors. It's an effective system. But Entrant SC goes it one (layer) better. This garment's new Entrant SC is coated on the inside with a microporous material and also covered on the outside by a revolutionary new, ultra-thin coating that shed water better than any known system. By keeping the honeycomb pores or the inner coating from cogging with water, the breathability of the total fabric system is improved dramatically. 1, record 8, English, - Entrant%20SC

1, record 8, French, - Entrant%20SC
