Huron society was matrilineal, meaning that when the father died, it was not his son who became chief of the clan, but the son of the deceased's sister. There were eight clans: turtle, wolf, bear, beaver, deer, eagle, porcupine and snake. During the 19th century the Lorette Hurons maintained [that] they stemmed from five tribes which were in turn subdivided into five clans (wolf, deer, bear, beaver and turtle).

The Bear clan is one of three clans that form the Mohawk nation, the Turtle clan and the Wolf clan being the two others. Each individual of the Mohawk nation is represented and protected by one of the three clans. Each clan selects a clan mother who is responsible for the nominations of candidates for chieftainship of their respective clans. An individual from the same clan. All Iroquois society has been established on a matrilineal basis.

The latest Mac OS includes a voice password feature that allows you to logon to your account using your voice. This has the potential for being a very useful technology, employed everywhere from homes to the increasingly secure airports. It does, however, have its flaws. If you set one voice password, it is very easy for someone to just record it, and then play it back. Of course, there is a solution for that. Once you've trained the software to your voice, when you login or require a password, it can prompt you to read a randomly generated phrase.

Trees up to five inches in trunk diameter are normally supported by guying with the wires attached to stakes, these guy wires spaced at 120-degree angles. Wires may be fastened to the tree in the same manners already discussed, although in this instance all attachment point should be at least six inches apart.
