cahier de breffage; cahier de briefing : Selon la majorité des sources consultées en français, le mot «breffage», employé au Canada, et son synonyme «briefing» n’ ont pas le même sens que le mot anglais «briefing» dans la langue générale. Si le mot «briefing» désigne en anglais l'action de donner des informations au sujet d’une situation donnée, les mots «briefing» et «breffage» désignent plutôt, d’après la plupart des sources consultées, une réunion où l'on présente des informations aux participants. Ainsi, bien que les désignations «cahier de breffage» et «cahier de briefing» soient fréquemment employées, l'utilisation d’autres désignations telles que «cahier d’information» ou «cahier de transition» peut être plus adaptée pour désigner un document visant à informer un nouveau premier ministre, ministre, ou dirigeant d’un organisme gouvernemental.

Aucune abréviation, car PEF=plan environnemental à la ferme(Décision du Comité de terminologie d’Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada). Dans présentation au Comité permanent de l'agriculture et de l'agroalimentaire du 27 mai 2003.
