Dependency, in its most basic sense, refers to a reliance on a particular substance to function normally. This reliance may be driven by a physical need, wherein the body has adapted to the presence of the substance and requires it to avoid withdrawal symptoms. More broadly, it can also involve a psychological element, where the individual feels unable to cope without the substance, leading to a sense of attachment and habituation. 3, record 2, English, - dependence

... feed efficiency has been considered as one of the important parameters in assessing the potential of bird strain or feeding program, etc. In [North] America the value is calculated by dividing feed intake by weight gain, and so values of around 1.9 are common for 42 [day] old birds. In some European countries, the efficiency is calculated as weight gain divided by feed intake, and a corresponding value would be 0.53. Whatever system is used, measures of feed efficiency are useful in describing feed intake in relation to growth rate. Feed efficiency is, therefore, a useful measure of performance as long as all other factors affecting both growth and feed intake are either minor or do not vary from flock to flock. 2, record 3, English, - feed%20efficiency

5, record 4, French, - Franco%2DCanadien
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 7 OBS

A licence differs in its essentials from an assignment. A licence, even though exclusive, does not give the licensee all the rights of the patentee. A licence does not set up rights as between the licensee and the public, but only permits him to do acts that he would otherwise be prohibited from doing. He obtains merely a right of user. ... A licence prevents that from being unlawful which, but for the licence, would be unlawful; it is a consent by an owner of a right that another person should commit an act which, but for that licence, would be an infringement of the right of the person who gives the licence. 7, record 16, English, - licence

The spelling licence, though still often met with, has no justification in the case of the substantive. In the case of the verb, on the other hand, although the spelling licence is etymologically unobjectionable, license is supported by the analogy of the rule universally adopted in the similar pairs of related words, practice sb., practise vb, prophecy sb., prophecy vb. ...

1, record 34, French, - c%C3%A9ramique%20de%20Portneuf
