Trajectory optimization can be used to enhance robotic motion and, in some examples, minimize the time a robot spends on travel in addition to optimizing or satisfying other requirements or restrictions for a given scenario. Optimization may be used to minimize time elapsed during travel in addition to reducing chances for error. In the example of a robotic picking environment wherein a robotic device is used to pick and place items, trajectory optimization may be used to reduce the chance of dropping an object by losing grip or suction stability creating smooth paths and reducing jerky movements, in addition to optimizing other parameters. Furthermore, optimizing the trajectories of a robot when picking and placing objects can increase the number of picks a robot can complete in a given time period and reduce the amount of time spent fixing errors due to issues like dropping or collisions. 1, record 1, English, - trajectory%20optimization

1, record 1, Spanish, - optimizaci%C3%B3n%20de%20trayectorias

Quantity surveyor: Traditionally one who was concerned with the measurement and valuation of construction work, but currently the practice of quantity surveying extends well beyond these basic activities.... Modern quantity surveying is concerned with the financial and economic aspects of construction. Its activities extend from the provision, for the prospective building owner, of reports on feasibility, through early stage estimates and cost-planning of the evolving design, into the preparation of bills of quantities, the obtaining and evaluation of tenders, the negotiation of contractual arrangements and the complete administration of the financial aspects of construction contracts. Let me summarize by saying the entire plan involves a fluorinated polymer base with ... a piezo-electric layer of coating [under] your skis. In other words, a tiny battery is used to apply an electric field that changes the coefficient of friction with regard to ice and water, meaning ... it makes your skis more slippery. A miniature computer chip senses the temperature and humidity in the snow as you ski, and continually adjusts the electric field to give you the best glide possible. 2, record 15, English, - chlorinated%20lubrication
Record number: 15, Textual support number: 2 OBS
NOTwax, unlike other fluorocarbons, is totally inert and won't stick to anything. So how does it stay on ski and snowboard bases? Extruded and sintered bases are essentially solid. They have no porosity except at a molecular level, but will absorb small amounts of certain liquids (such as solvents). Sintered bases are more amorphous (less crystalline) and have more ability to absorb than extruded bases. Ordinary waxes and base preparations rely on surface bonding and can't soak in more than a few microns. But NOTwax has such low viscosity and low surface tension that it will penetrate deeply into sintered bases. It stays there by capillary attraction (like water in a sponge) until the base contacts snow (or another solid surface). The wicking action of snow against the base is stronger than the capillary attraction of the base to lubricate the surface. The result is that you feel like you are riding on ball bearings. 3, record 15, English, - chlorinated%20lubrication

3, record 15, French, - lubrification%20chlor%C3%A9e

To most of the North American manufacturing companies that have adopted it, JIT is an overall performance improvement program. Just-In-Time is "back to basics", with a vengeance and, more importantly, with a knowledge of which basics we should be getting back to, for example: - Mixed assembly - to permit more stable production schedules and to minimize finished goods inventories. - Set-up time reduction - to permit small lot production and shorten lead time. - Product - flow shop layouts - to eliminate work-in-process stocks, reduce space requirements, and shorten lead times. - Quality-at-the-source - to reduce defect rates and related scrap and rework costs. 2, record 27, English, - just%2Din%2Dtime%20production

3, record 27, French, - production%20juste%2D%C3%A0%2Dtemps
