In concluding on waste treatment approaches and effectiveness it is fair to say that a high degree of quality control is necessary, but that in terms of contaminant fixation, studies of this aspect have found that most contaminants remain chemically stabilised and become more so with time. 3, record 3, English, - contaminant%20fixation

In this kind of fixation, contaminants are rendered firm or stable in consistency to prevent them to be evaporated, volatilized or leached out of the soil matrix under future possible combinations of groundwater chemistry and hydraulic gradients. 3, record 3, French, - fixation%20des%20contaminants

Mobile/Transportable PCB Destruction. A number of companies have developed mobile/transportable PCB thermal destruction systems. These mobile/transportable systems have the advantage that destruction can be performed on-site, which eliminates the costs and risks of transporting wastes from a waste site to a stationary destruction facility. Few systems are truly mobile in that the system or system modules can travel by road to the site and be operative with no additional site assembling or fabrication. In general, the size and complexity of thermal destruction systems requires site preparation, system module assembly, and a commissioning trial burn period prior to hazardous waste operation.
