Diachronic terminology has become essential for specialized translation. ... There is ... an urgent need to revisit some of the founding principles of terminology and take into account more largely the history of concepts and terms and the cultural differences they carry. This certainly gains weight and importance when it is observed in the light of corpus linguistics, which opens up new and original possibilities of research in this field. 2, record 1, English, - diachronic%20terminology

2, record 1, French, - terminologie%20diachronique

Analysis of the usage of concurrent terms designating a given concept. Terminometry can be comparative or diachronic. Example 1: What term (in French) was used to represent a portable cellular phone, in 2003? Example 2: How were concurrent terms used in the past five years? 3, record 2, English, - terminometry

The [Language Technologies Research Centre] LTRC's Barçah research project has created an environment that will make it possible to conduct terminometric studies - or measure terminology implantation - on entire subject fields. The Barçah software produces an accelerated and efficient measurement of terminology use within a subject fields. It sorts the texts according to their language, indexes the corpuses, examines them, presents contexts in a user-friendly environment for manual disambiguation and assists in results management. 4, record 2, English, - terminometry

Terminometrics is a new discipline whose first scientific protocol was proposed recently (Quirion, 2000). Research in terminometrics has been carried out in only a few parts of the world up to this point, mainly Quebec, France, and Catalonia. 5, record 2, English, - terminometry

3, record 2, French, - terminom%C3%A9trie
