There was ... concern that diagnosis-driven precautions were inadequate, in that they did not address potential transmission from body substances of asymptomatic colonized patients. To address this concern, a new isolation system, called body substance isolation, was created in which barrier precautions were tailored to the activity performed rather than the diagnosis. This system extended barrier precautions to all direct contact with blood, body fluids, secretions and moist body substances, and with non-intact skin. Gloves were used for all such contacts. Gowns, masks and eye protection were recommended for procedures in which soiling or splashing was anticipated. ... The goal was to prevent transmission by preventing contamination of the HCW's [healthcare worker's] hands. 3, record 2, English, - body%20substance%20isolation

1, record 2, French, - pr%C3%A9cautions%20applicables%20aux%20liquides%20organiques

When reviewing a drug order, the pharmacist applies knowledge of drug therapy and additional patient specific information (e.g. diagnosis, reported allergies, patient weight, etc.) to evaluate the appropriateness of the medication order for that specific patient. If a potential problem is identified, the pharmacist contacts the prescriber to clarify the order and/or discuss alternatives. 7, record 27, French, - sensibilit%C3%A9%20chimique%20multiple

Wenger's taxonomy of behavioral diagnostic processes distinguishes between non-inferential ones, based on a powerful representation of knowledge correctness and on evaluating and characterizing errors (interactive diagnosis), and inferential diagnosis that reconstructs unobservable student behavior by interpreting student's responses and matching them against knowledge standards. Instruction has goals. In general, goals can be achieved either through intentional planning activities, by which one gains control over the environment, or through the recognition of opportunities presented by the environment's resources. Most of the time, goals are best achieved by an appropriate combination of both styles. Hence, in attaining teaching goals and in generating subgoals, opportunistic and plan-based contexts define a range of pedagogical styles that vary in the system's control over the shape of the tutorial sequence. In turn, the degree of this control determines different triggering contexts for didactic operations and suggests different roles for diagnosis and didactics. 2, record 49, English, - pedagogical%20context

1, record 49, French, - contexte%20p%C3%A9dagogique
