Insolation duration [is the] sum of time intervals within a given time period (hour, day, month, year) during which the irradiances from direct solar radiation on a plane normal to the sun direction is equal to or greater than 120 W/m2. This limit has been set by the World Meteorological Organization in 1981, before this date, it was 200 W/m2.
