Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
It has always been a recognized employer's prerogative to fix the hours of work of his/her employees, within certain limits laid down by law. In some jurisdictions, the maximum workweek seems to be an absolute maximum whereby employees may not be permitted to work any hours in excess of those stipulated. In other cases, employees may not be required to work any excess hours, which means that in practice the employees can refuse the overtime work scheduled for them. Some jurisdictions also give employees the right to refuse overtime if they do not receive adequate notice or if they face a personal emergency. 7, record 4, English, - overtime

extra duty (or extra work): Refers to an additional work, i.e. an activity which is outside of the normal parameters of an employee's position, and not to the time spent to excute some work. Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT

3, record 11, French, - travail%20accessoire

Time-weighted average (TWA) exposure limit is the time-weighted average concentration of a chemical in air for a normal 8-hour work-day and 40-hour workweek to which nearly all workers may be exposed day after day without harmful effects. Time-weighted average means that the average concentration has been calculated using the duration of exposure to different concentrations of the chemical during a specific time period. In this way, higher and lower exposures are averaged over the day or week. 1, record 15, English, - time%2Dweighted%20average%20exposure%20limit

2, record 15, French, - limite%20d%26rsquo%3Bexposition%20moyenne%20pond%C3%A9r%C3%A9e%20en%20fonction%20du%20temps
