Modern "glass cockpits" like those in the Boeing 777, the F-117 stealth fighter and Shuttle Atlantis represent a revolution in the way cockpits for aircraft and spacecraft are designed and built today. The first hints of this revolution appeared in the 1970s when flight-worthy cathode ray tube (CRT) screens began to replace a few of the electromechanical displays, gauges and instruments that had served so well for so long. These new "glass" instruments, as few and as primitive as they were, gave the cockpit a distinctly different look and suggested the name, "glass cockpit." 4, record 2, English, - glass%20cockpit

... Assystem City Car ... is remarkably easy to park, and not only because of its compact dimensions (3.60 m long, 1.60 m wide and 1.60 m tall), or its light weight (only 600 kg), but also because it has three axles, a central one, with two wheels, and one wheel in each extreme of the car (front and end). These single wheel axles are the ones responsible for moving and turning the Assystem City Car. The front wheel is powered by an electrical engine with 20 kW (about 27 cv), which can push the car to 50 km/h of top speed and has 30 km of autonomy, basically what regular people need to go to work and back home every day. For the roads, there is a little combustion engine that delivers 60 cv in the rear axle. It can lead the vehicle to a top speed of 130 km/h and, with its 30 l fuel tank, can carry the Assystem City Car to up to 600 km. Both engines can be used together, what turns this car into a hybrid. This vehicle, albeit small, can carry up to five people and their luggage. It has a low gravity center, what enhances dynamics, its oval shape prevents serious accident consequences and, when visibility is low, a screen takes the place of the regular windshield and shows the driver infrared images of the road, guiding him/her safely to destination. 1, record 3, English, - Assystem%20City%20Car

Assystem City Car [...] 2, record 3, French, - Assystem%20City%20Car

Displays and Control Module (DCM). This is an irregularly shaped box of switches, valves, and digital displays that gets mounted on the chest. It controls the primary life support system and the secondary oxygen pack. 2, record 5, English, - display%20and%20control%20module

Displays and Control Module (DCM)... Along the top are switches for power, communications mode selection, caution and warning. There is also a switch that controls the water that is fed to the Liquid Cooling-and-Ventilation Garment. A digital display is used to monitor the various suit circuits. At the top left of this module is an emergency relief valve. If the primary life support system were to ever malfunction, the astronaut would still have access to the secondary oxygen pack. To activate this secondary oxygen pack, all the astronaut would have to do is open a purge valve by squeezing a set of pinchers. This valve releases air pressure on the chest plate - this is the same valve that is used at the end of EVA [Extravehicular Activity] to depressurize the suit. Also on the left, a step down from the purge valve, is the mechanical-suit pressure gauge. Along the right-hand side of the module, are two switches: the ventilation-fan switch and the push-to-talk switch. The ventilation-fan switch can activate and deactivate a fan which circulates air through the helmet and other parts of the suit. The push-to-talk switch is similar to one you would find on a CB [Citizen Band] radio. If the astronaut wants to talk, he has to push the button to be heard, and if he wants to receive voice messages, he has to release the button. On the front of the panel are other controls for volume, temperature, and suit pressure. 2, record 5, English, - display%20and%20control%20module
