L'égreneuse à scies(dite saw-gin) comporte 60, 70 ou 80 scies circulaires à denture très fine, montées sur un axe et tournant à 450 tr/min. Elles pénètrent, pour une partie de leur rotation, dans un bac dont une des parois est formée de barre aux de grille placés entre les scies.
