Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is a nonspecific diagnosis representing many conditions that involve the compression of the neurovascular structures that pass through the thoracic outlet. ... The cause of thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), conceptually, is straightforward. It manifests due to the compression of various structures in the thoracic outlet. Anatomic abnormalities are likely culprits for this increased pressure in the region. Cervical ribs, extra ribs typically arising from the seventh cervical vertebrae, is one of the most common offenders for thoracic outlet syndrome. 3, record 3, English, - thoracic%20outlet%20syndrome

The Canadian Geodetic Survey provides the fundamental reference frame and standards for the measurement of latitude, longitude, elevation and gravity anywhere in Canada and monitors motions of [the] continental landmass in support of geomatics and geoscience. This geospatial reference frame underpins all activities where positions matter, enabling mapping, land surveying, water management and engineering activities in Canada. A growing community of research scientists rely on the program's precise positioning and gravity information to study changes in the Earth. The program is delivered by real-time analysis of global satellite data, supporting client services that enable Canadians to use global navigation satellite systems (e.g. GPS) for precise positioning, including heights above sea-level. 2, record 36, English, - Canadian%20Geodetic%20Survey%3A%20Spatially%20Enabling%20Canada

1, record 48, French, - capacit%C3%A9%20limite

A procedure designed to evaluate the strength of the gluteus medius muscle. The examiner stands behind the patient and observes the dimples overlying the posterior superior iliac spines, then, he asks the patient to stand on one leg. If he stands erect, the gluteus medius muscle on the supported side should contract as soon as the leg leaves the ground and should elevate the pelvis on the unsupported side. This elevation indicates that the gluteus medius muscle on the supported side is functioning properly (negative Trendelenburg sign). However, if the pelvis on the unsupported side remains in position or actually descends, the gluteus medius muscle on the supported side is either weak or nonfunctioning (positive Trendelenburg sign). 3, record 60, English, - Trendelenburg%20test

3, record 70, French, - centre%20de%20phase%20de%20l%26rsquo%3Bantenne

Diffuse solar irradiance is a measure of the rate of incoming solar energy on a horizontal plane at the Earth's surface resulting from scattering of the Sun's beam due to atmospheric constituents. Diffuse solar irradiance is measured by a pyranometer, with its glass dome shaded from the Sun's beam. The shading is accomplished either by an occulting disc or a shading arm attached to a solar tracker. The angle subtended by the shading disc of the diffuse pyranometer should be the same as the field of view of the pyrheliometer. It is important that the dome of the pyranometer is always fully shaded from the Sun's beam to ensure accuracy of measurement, and should be checked for correct alignment on a regular basis. 4, record 79, English, - pyranometer

7, record 92, French, - changement%20climatique%20d%26rsquo%3Borigine%20humaine

If the coronary artery in question gets completely blocked by clot, blood flow stops entirely and the full thickness of heart muscle fed by that artery is damaged. This causes a characteristic change on the electrocardiogram (ECG) called "ST-segment elevation." This type of heart attack is thus called an "ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)." 2, record 96, English, - ST%2Dsegment%20elevation%20myocardial%20infarction
