Élimination du bruit. Afin d’éviter une trop grande modification des valeurs d’origine, l’élimination du bruit a été réalisée avant les corrections géométriques. Le choix d’une grille 5u X u5 a été jugé le plus adéquat pour obtenir un lissage moyen. Le filtre de Kuan a été choisi parce qu’il a un écart-type ainsi qu’un coefficient de variation assez faible. Il est semblable au filtre de LEE mais les estimateurs de variance locaux («weighting function») sont différents.
