One of the most useful sections of the MSDS is the preventive measures section. In this part of the MSDS, the supplier lists suggestions for the precautions which should be taken in storing, handling, using and disposing of the product. [The] preventive measures [include the following entries:] Engineering controls - equipment needed to prevent over-exposure. Personal protective equipment - gloves, respirators, impervious clothing, etc. Use and handling procedures. Storage requirements. Leak and spill procedures. Shipping information. Disposal practices.
