Algae and aquatic biomass has the potential to provide a new range of third generation biofuels, including jet fuels. Their high oil and biomass yields, widespread availability, absent (or very reduced) competition with agricultural land, high quality and versatility of the by-products, their efficient use as a mean to capture CO2 and their suitability for wastewater treatments and other industrial plants make algae and aquatic biomass one of the most promising and attractive renewable sources for a fully sustainable and low-carbon economy portfolio. 2, record 5, English, - third%2Dgeneration%20biofuel
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 OBS
There is considerable debate on how to classify biofuels. Biofuels are commonly divided into first-, second- and third-generation biofuels, but the same fuel might be classified differently depending on whether technology maturity, GHG [greenhouse gas] emission balance or the feedstock is used to guide the distinction. 4, record 5, English, - third%2Dgeneration%20biofuel
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 2 OBS
According to The Canadian Style: A Guide to Writing and Editing, compound adjectives that contain a cardinal or ordinal number and a noun should be hyphenated; therefore "third-generation biofuel" is preferable to "third generation biofuel" in a Canadian context. 5, record 5, English, - third%2Dgeneration%20biofuel

3, record 29, French, - mat%C3%A9riau%20%C3%A0%20changement%20de%20phase%20solide%20liquide

Many of the examples of covalent catalysis in enzyme-catalysed reactions involve attack by a nucleophilic side chain at an electron-deficient centre in the substrate; such attack is termed nucleophilic catalysis. Examples of nucleophilic catalysis are provided by chymotrypsin and fructose-bisphosphate aldolase, in these cases the nucleophilic side chains are those of serine and lysine respectively. Other types of side chain which have been found to participate in nucleophilic catalysis include cysteine ... and histidine.... 3, record 44, English, - covalent%20catalysis

Green chemistry, also called sustainable chemistry, is a chemical philosophy encouraging the design of products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances. Whereas environmental chemistry is the chemistry of the natural environment, and of pollutant chemicals in nature, green chemistry seeks to reduce and prevent pollution at its source. 3, record 55, English, - green%20chemistry

The concept of Sustainable Chemistry represents an area of innovation, which not only preserves resources, but also stands for a development process in the chemical industry. Sustainable Chemistry aspirates to raise the stake of less dangerous chemicals as well as production of environmentally high-quality products from preferable renewable resources. This obviates emissions and excessive consumption of resources like energy and materials. The principle of Sustainable Chemistry comprises important elements in areas like environment, economy and society. Sustainable Chemistry deals with the whole life of intrinsic safe chemicals and products, including their production, processing, use and disposal. Intrinsic safe chemicals and products are characterised by low toxicity to environment and human health and low persistence and accumulation potential. Thereby environment and human health are protected in the first place in the life of chemicals and socio-economic follow-up costs are avoided. Additionally, production of sustainable chemicals and products contributes to economic profit for innovative enterprises and thereby affords an opportunity for competitive advantage compared to production and marketing in old-fashioned concepts. This includes innovative concepts like chemical leasing and operation of (Quantitative) Structure-Activity Relationship [Q)SAR). 4, record 55, English, - green%20chemistry

Lockout and tagging ensures that hazardous energy sources are under the control of each worker. Serious or fatal accidents can occur when people assume that machinery is turned off or made harmless but it isn't. Lockout is a procedure that prevents the release of hazardous energy. It often involves workers using a padlock to keep a switch in the "off" position, or to isolate the energy of moving parts. This prevents electric shock, sudden movement of components, chemical combustion, falling counterweights, and other actions that can endanger lives. Lockout is a physical way to ensure that the energy source is de-energized, deactivated, or otherwise inoperable. 2, record 57, English, - lock%2Dout

The opposite of "stable," i.e. the chemical species concerned has a higher molar Gibbs energy than some assumed standard. The term should not be used in place of "reactive" or "transient," although more reactive or transient species are frequently also more unstable. (Very unstable chemical species tend to undergo exothermic unimolecular decompositions. Variations in the structure of the related chemical species of this kind generally affect the energy of the transition states for these decompositions less than they affect the stability of the decomposing chemical species. Low stability may therefore parallel a relatively high rate of unimolecular decomposition.) 4, record 71, English, - unstable

Direct fire projectiles are primarily designed to strike a target with a velocity high enough to achieve penetration. The chemical energy projectile uses some form of chemical heat and blast to achieve penetration. It detonates either at impact or when maximum penetration is achieved. Chemical energy projectiles carrying impact-detonated or delayed detonation high-explosive charges are used mainly for direct fire from systems with high accuracy and consistently good target acquisition ability. Tanks, antitank weapons, and automatic cannons usually use these types of projectiles. 3, record 83, English, - chemical%20energy%20projectile

CR-39 plastic nuclear track detectors (PNTDs) are made of polymers that are sensitive to charged particles of linear energy transfer (LET) greater than or equal to 5 keV/ micrometer. CR-39 PNTDs are usually made up of thin (approximately 0.6 mm) sheets which are assembled in multi-layer stacks exposed in three mutually-orthogonal orientations. Charged particles that pass through the CR-39 PNTD with enough LET break the molecular bonds of the polymer and form a pathway known as the "latent damage trail." As the amount of radiation the CR-39 PNTD is exposed to increases, so does the number of latent damage trails. 1, record 84, English, - CR%2D39%20plastic%20nuclear%20track%20detector

1, record 84, French, - d%C3%A9tecteur%20solide%20de%20traces%20nucl%C3%A9aires
