Maintenance and Material Handling Services have introduced a paper towel composting program and streamlined the Paper Save program in the Wellington Building. They also collect and recycle cardboard cores from rolls of paper towels and toilet paper and distribute them to the Hill Daycare for their arts and crafts projects.

The PaperSave Program administered by Crown Assets Distribution Centres (CADC) was launched in the NCR in September, 1990 in an attempt to promote recycling and reduce paper waste. To date, the NCR CADC has distributed well over 110,000 blue baskets in approximately 200 buildings in the NCR. Each year 13,000 metric tons of wastepaper is collected for recycling which contributes to over a quarter of a million trees being saved.

Ce programme, administré par la Direction de la Distribution des biens de la Couronne, a été lancé en vue de promouvoir le recyclage et de réduire la consommation de papier. Jusqu’à maintenant, le Centre de distribution des biens de la Couronne de la région de la capitale nationale (RCN) a distribué plus de 110 000 corbeilles bleues dans environ 200 immeubles de la RCN. Chaque année, 13 000 tonnes métriques de déchets de papier sont collectées aux fins de recyclage, ce qui contribue à sauver plus d’un quart de million d’arbres.
