2, record 1, French, - %C3%A9pissage

ADVIRC is a dominantly inherited bestrophinopathy which affects the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells of the eye. ... Patients with ADVIRC have a highly pigmented circular band present in the outer regions (periphery) of the retina, with a distinct border between the highly pigmented retina and normal retina. This so called "hyperpigmented" band is a distinctive characteristic of the disease in all older patients. Early in the disease ADVIRC affects the outer retina and there may be very little change in the appearance of the central retina, but as ADVIRC progresses it can affect the macular region, causing central vision loss. 3, record 3, English, - autosomal%20dominant%20vitreoretinochoroidopathy

Its origins lie in the age of sail. The mainbrace was the largest rigging on a sailing vessel and was used to control the angle of the yard that held the main sail. ... Splicing a mainbrace was already one of the most difficult repairs on a ship, even without the added pressure of doing it speedily. During battle it was incredibly dangerous. Successfully splicing a mainbrace was rewarded with an extra ration of rum. Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 OBS
1, record 8, French, - %C3%A9pissez%20le%20cordage%20principal

The RNA transcripts from the provirus then undergo complex processing by enzymes in the cell. Two distinct phases of transcription follow the infection of an individual cell by HIV. In the early phase, which lasts roughly 24 hours, RNA transcripts produced in the cell's nucleus are snipped into multiple copies of shorter sequences by cellular splicing enzymes. When they reach the cytoplasm, they are only about 2,000 nucleotides in length. These early-phase short transcripts encode only the virus's regulatory proteins: the structural genes that constitute the rest of the genome are among the parts that are left behind. 1, record 25, English, - regulatory%20protein

1, record 25, French, - prot%C3%A9ine%20r%C3%A9gulatrice

[Request for] funding to study the distribution and behaviour of a Group I intron found in the 25S rRNA gene of certain strains of Candida albicans [However] a number of the proposed experimental approaches ... do not take advantage of information that has been accumulating about this class of self-splicing introns over recent years .... 1, record 29, English, - self%2Dsplicing%20intron

In vitro genetic analysis of the Tetrahymena self-splicing intron ... We have now developed an in vitro selection and amplification system, and used it to analyse the self-splicing Tetrahymena ribozyme ... A self-splicing intron in the small subunit rRNA gene of Pneumocystis carinii ... Sequence requirements for branch formation in a group II self-splicing intron ... The nrdB gene of bacteriophage T4 codes for the small subunit of ribonucleotide reductase and contains a 598 base pair self-splicing intron which is closely related to other group I introns of T4 and eukaryotes ... Group II and nuclear pre-mRNAs introns share a common splicing pathway involving a lariat intermediate, as well as some primary sequence similarities at the splice junctions. In this work, we analyze the role of the conserved nucleotides at the first and penultimate positions (G1 and A886) of a group II self-splicing intron ...
