Le carcinosarcome est une forme maligne rare de cancer qui associe à la fois une tumeur épithéliale ou sarcome(éléments sarcomateux) et une tumeur conjonctive ou carcinome(éléments carcinomateux). On parle aussi d’épithéliosarcome. En général, il s’agit d’une carcinome qui subit une modification morphologique. Dans le carcinosarcome, la fraction carcinomateuse, toujours minoritaire, peut être transitionnelle, épidermoïde ou adénocarcinomateuse. La partie sarcomateuse est fibroblastique, léiomyomateuse, rhabdomyomateuse, ostéosarcomateuse ou chondrosarcomateuse.
