Anticorps antigénisé contre le paludisme. [...] Purification of mutant enzymes is a prime requirement of biophysical and biochemical studies. Our investigations on the essential E. Coli enzyme glutaminyl-tRNA sybthetase demand mutant enzymes free of any wild-type protein contamination. However, as it is not possible to express non-complementing mutant enzymes in an E. Coli gInS-deletion strain, we developed a novel strategy to address these problems. Instead of following the common tactic of epitope-tagging the mutant protein of interest on an extrachromosomal genetic element, we fused a reporter epitope to the 5' end of the chromosomal gInS-gene copy: this is referred as reverse epitope-tagging. 1, record 10, English, - reverse%20epitope%2Dtagging

Jerne's Network hypothesis. This theory, as originally formulated, stated that since the repertoire of shapes that antibodies can bind to is virtually unlimited, and since antibodies themselves have an enormous variety of idiotypic shapes, they may interact with each other specifically to form an idiotypic network. Network theory is an extension of Jerne's hypothesis proposing that lymphocytes as well as antibodies can modulate the activity of others via their receptors. 1, record 12, English, - idiotypic%20network

The carrier determinant in the N- and C-region of hen egg-white lysozyme (lysozyme), recognized by T cells, which helps antibody formation to a single DNP residue bound to the Lysine-33 of lysozyme, was analyzed. P17 (sequence 1--27: Cys 6-CYS 127: 123--129) and P17t (sequence 1-Homoser 12; Cys 6-Cys 127: 123--129), which are known to be immunodominant antigenic determinants could induce helper T cells. When P17t was reduced and alkylated, one of the resultant peptides, P17tN (sequence 1-Homoser 12) could still induce helper T cells, but P17tC (sequence 123-129) could not. A synthetic peptide SP1-14 (sequence 1-A1a 6--14) also induced helper T cells. Thus the carrier determinant helping in antibody formation to the DNP residue at Lysine-33 may be localized in the region corresponding to the sequence 1--12 of lysozyme. 2, record 13, English, - carrier%20determinant
