La limite supérieure de la fourchette correspond au taux officiel d’escompte, soit le taux que la Banque du Canada appliqué aux avances qu'elle accorde aux institutions financières dans le cadre du STPGV [système de transfert de paiements de grande valeur] ;la limite inférieure est le taux auquel la Banque rémunère les encaisses que ces institutions tiennent jusqu'au lendemain au sein du STPGV.

OBS

Le terme «fourchette d’intervention» ne convient pas au contexte du STPGV parce que la Banque met des facilités de prêt et de dépôt à la disposition des institutions plutôt que de procéder à des cessions en pension ou prises en pension spéciales.
