Le rosissement des yeux est causé par la bactérie Pseudomonas fluorescens, et elle se manifeste par une décoloration rose ou brune et par la nécrose de la pelure, surtout autour des yeux. Elle est généralement associée à la flétrissure verticillienne, mais elle s’attaque également aux plants indemnes de flétrissure. La bactérie est terricole. Elle apparaît vers la fin de la saison de végétation, et plus fréquemment dans les sols très humides.
