Omphalocele (exomphalos) is a developmental defect of the anterior abdominal wall in which the abdominal musculature, fascia, and skin are absent in the midline at the point of insertion of the umbilical cord. Abdominal organs extrude anteriorly through the defect and are covered by a saclike membrane consisting of amnion externally and parietal peritoneum internally. Omphalocele results from failure of the intestine to return to the body cavity after its normal herniation into the umbilical stalk during embryonic life. Omphaloceles vary in size; the defect may be a few centimeters in diameter, or most of the anterior abdominal wall may be lacking. Depending on the size of the defect, small intestine, liver, spleen, and pancreas may be in the sac. 2, record 5, English, - omphalocele

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is one of the most common causes of chronic liver disease in the developed world. It is a spectrum of disease, ranging from hepatic fat accumulation without inflammation to steatohepatitis, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and end-stage liver disease. MASLD is considered the hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome and is associated with obesity, dyslipidemia, and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Dicrocoelium dendriticum is called the lancet liver fluke because of its characteristic shape. Unlike most other digenetic trematodes whose life cycles involve aquatic or marine hosts, the life cycle of this parasite is completely terrestrial involving a terrestrial snail as the first intermediate host and an ant as the second intermediate host. The definitive host, which includes sheep, cattle, goats, pigs and humans (rarely), is infected when it ingests ants that are infected with matacercariae. In the definitive host the parasite migrates into the bile duct and causes pathology similar to that caused by Clonorchis sinensis. This parasite is distributed throughout much of Europe and Asia, and it is also found in parts of North America and Australia. 4, record 70, English, - lancet%20liver%20fluke

Disorders of the liver are common causes of chronic illness in childhood, affecting approximately one of every 8,000 children. Most childhood liver diseases are congenital (present at birth), and may be caused by a variety of genetic abnormalities, structural malformations, or prenatal infections. Effective and easy to use, the revolutionary solution of silica nanoparticles is capable of closing deep wounds in a matter of seconds ... The researchers were able to test the nanoglue procedure alongside current conventional methods for sealing deep wounds or repairing cuts to an organ, and the results lived up to expectations. The nanoglue method resulted in minimal scarring, an absence of necrosis or inflammation, and rapid healing of the wound. Hemorrhaging is quickly stopped and organ function is preserved. 1, record 95, English, - nanoglue

3, record 100, Spanish, - Nochebuena
