Long-lived climate forcers refer to a set of well-mixed greenhouse gases with long atmospheric lifetimes. This set of compounds includes carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrous oxide (N2O), together with some fluorinated gases. They have a warming effect on climate. These compounds accumulate in the atmosphere at decadal to centennial time scales, and their effect on climate hence persists for decades to centuries after their emission. 2, record 2, English, - long%2Dlived%20climate%20forcer

1, record 2, French, - facteur%20de%20for%C3%A7age%20climatique%20%C3%A0%20longue%20dur%C3%A9e%20de%20vie

All forms of climatic inconstancy (for example, any differences between long-term statistics of the meteorological elements calculated for different periods but relating to the same area) regardless of their statistical nature or physical causes. 3, record 3, English, - climatic%20change
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Climate changes may result from such factors as changes in solar emission, long-period changes in the Earth's orbital elements (eccentricity, obliquity of the ecliptic, precession of the equinoxes), natural internal processes of the climate system, or anthropogenic forcing (for example, increasing atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases). 3, record 3, English, - climatic%20change
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 OBS
The term "climate change" is often used in a more restricted sense, to denote a significant change (for example, a change having important economic, environmental and social effects) in the mean values of a meteorological element (in particular temperature or amount of precipitation) in the course of a certain period of time, where the means are taken over periods of the order of a decade or longer. 3, record 3, English, - climatic%20change

3, record 3, French, - changement%20climatique
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 OBS
3, record 3, French, - changement%20climatique
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 3 OBS

3, record 3, Spanish, - cambio%20clim%C3%A1tico

In the Northern Hemisphere, the latitudinal and seasonal patterns of the early twentieth century warming are remarkably similar to the patterns predicted by the equilibrium response general circulation model study of Manabe and Stouffer for a quadrupling of CO2 concentration. If this similarity was a result of early twentieth century CO2 forcing then it may indicate that equilibrium models can give realistic results ... If CO2 [is] not the dominant forcing mechanism then this similarity supports the idea that the latitudinal patterns of climatic change are largely independent of the type of forcing. 3, record 4, English, - carbon%20dioxide%20forcing
