La forêt modèle mène différents projets, notamment sur l'évaluation de la biodiversité, l'évaluation des stocks de carbone, la planification à l'échelle des bassins hydrographiques, la qualité de l'eau et la faune. 1, record 27, French, - For%C3%AAt%20mod%C3%A8le%20de%20l%26rsquo%3Bouest%20de%20Terre%2DNeuve

Many birds live and breed on the ground. The young of terrestrial bird species are able to look after themselves very soon after they hatch. Temperate forests occur within the temperate, non-tropical zone. Temperate forests occur north of the Tropic of Cancer and south of the Tropic of Capricorn. Temperate forests usually have fairly distributed rainfall and moderate temperatures, in contrast to tropical forests which generally experience extremes in rainfall and high temperature. ... There are a number of different types of temperate forest. These include: (i) the largely coniferous boreal forests which flourish in the far north containing species such as cypress, cork oak, and stone pine, which grow on the shores and islands of the Mediterranean; and (iii) austral forests, which grow in New Zealand, Southern Australia, South Africa, and the Patagonia region of South America. 3, record 46, English, - temperate%20forest

In the more level areas of boreal forest, caribou may move only a few kilometres seasonally from mature forest to open bogs. The George River Herd, however, is an exception to this pattern and makes extensive seasonal movements between forested and tundra habitats in Québec and Labrador. [...] dans les régions moins accidentés de la forêt boréale, le caribou peut ne devoir se déplacer que de quelques kilomètres à chaque migration entre la forêt à maturité et les tourbières à découvert.
