The Great Bear Rainforest is a temperate rain forest on the Pacific coast of British Columbia, comprising 6.4 million hectares. It is part of the larger Pacific temperate rainforest ecoregion, which is the largest coastal temperate rainforest in the world. The Great Bear Rainforest was officially recognized by the Government of British Columbia in February 2016, when it announced an agreement to permanently protect 85% of the old-growth forested area from industrial logging. The forest was admitted to the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy in September of the same year. 1, record 1, English, - Great%20Bear%20Rainforest

Dust Bowl refers to a series of destructive wind and dust storms that struck the United States during the 1930's. These storms ranked among the worst environmental disasters in world history. Most of the damage occurred from 1935 to 1938 in the southern Great Plains, and so this area also became known as the Dust Bowl. Altogether, the storms damaged about 50 million acres (20 million hectares) of land, mainly in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. An additional 50 million acres were endangered before conservation measures began to take effect. 1, record 15, English, - dust%20bowl

Tropical moist forest is generally defined as forest in areas that receive not less than 100 mm of rain in any month for two out of three years and have an annual mean temperature of 24°C or higher. Also included in this category, however, are some forests (especially in Africa) where dry periods are longer but high cloud cover causes reduced evapotranspiration. 3, record 18, English, - moist%20forest

The weathering mantle [in equatorial zones where the dense forest prevails], whose thickness can reach 10, 20 or 30 meters, always remains humid. Kaolinization prevails on acid parent rocks such as granites and gneiss, which are always clogged with water. Abundant lessivage removes the small amount of iron, and one arrives at tremendous areas of pale colored kaolinitic earths; these are the yellow equatorial clays .... 1, record 22, English, - yellow%20equatorial%20clay
