The findings of the 2002 Canadian Public Opinion Survey on Youth and Sport revealed that people believe that sport is falling short of its potential to teach youth positive values. To address this, the CCES' National Sport Ethics Forum held The Sport We Want Symposium in September 2003. The Symposium's purpose was to initiate a compelling dialogue on a national scale about community-level sport and why it is failling to achieve its potential to positively influence the moral and personal development of youth and strengthen communities. 2, record 1, English, - The%20Sport%20We%20Want

2, record 1, French, - Le%20sport%20que%20nous%20voulons

In 1969, an amendment to the Parole Act led to what is today known as day parole. Under this type of parole, an offender must return to prison or a community residential centre each evening. Therefore, as day parole use grew, so did the need for centres for offender accommodation and supervision. In 1973, William Outerbridge, a professor of criminology at the University of Ottawa (who later became chairperson of the National Parole Board), conducted a study of community-based residential centres. ... Following this report, the Secretariat of the Solicitor General of Canada organized a national forum on community-based residential centres. At the conclusion of this forum, the privately run Quebec centres formed the Association des membres des centres résidentiels communautaires du Québec, a move facilitated by the fact that the majority of the centres were already members of the Quebec Association of Social Rehabilitation Agencies. 1, record 3, English, - Association%20des%20membres%20des%20centres%20r%C3%A9sidentiels%20communautaires%20du%20Qu%C3%A9bec

3, record 3, French, - Association%20des%20membres%20des%20centres%20r%C3%A9sidentiels%20communautaires%20du%20Qu%C3%A9bec
