Pitless Adapter. Pitless - to have, without the use of a pit, a sealed unit to conduct type of pump out of the well into the house service line. Or, in other words, the pitless unit forms an unbroken extension of the well casing from below the frost line, where it is attached to the casing, to above ground where it is covered by a cap.

Cet adaptateur permet d’installer une pompe immergée qui pourra être extraite du puits sans qu’il soit nécessaire de prévoir une fosse ou de déterrer le branchement de service. En d’autres termes, l’adaptateur de branchement à coulisseau permet de se brancher au tubage du puits sous le niveau de pénétration du gel une fois pour toutes. Le tubage lui-même se prolonge hors du sol où il est fermé par un capuchon.
