To study cycling of organic fractions in the ocean, relative abundances and radio- and stable-carbon isotope measurements of total lipid extract, acid-soluble, and acid-insoluble fractions of suspended particulate organic carbon (POC) were made. Changes in relative abundances occurred mostly in the upper 1000 m of the water column, with a decrease in total lipid extract and the acid-soluble fraction and an increase in the acid-insoluble fraction with increasing depth. 3, record 1, English, - acid%2Dinsoluble%20fraction

4, record 1, French, - fraction%20insoluble%20aux%20acides

These soils are found in the northern part of the humid tropical zone which is characterized by the lateritic or ferrallitic soils ... These soils contain unweathered minerals of the parent rock, especially potash or lime soda feldspars, constituting a reserve of alkalis and alkaline-earth elements. The clay fraction often shows kaolinite associated with other clay minerals and iron hydroxides without free alumina. These soils can be lessivés in which case they show colors ranging from red to beige. 1, record 4, English, - ferruginous%20tropical%20soil

2, record 4, French, - sol%20ferrugineux%20tropical
