Differentiation on cooling of a mafic magma under these conditions would enable separation of plagioclase of the composition found in anorthosite masses and the gradual enrichment of the remaining magma in ferromagnesian, alkali, and volatile constituents, and provide a high iron and titanium end-fraction that would eventually crystallize as disseminated oxide grains in the gabbro and anorthosite phases. 1, record 1, English, - end%2Dfraction

[In an electrical measuring system for flame spectroscopy], the time needed for the reactant to reach a specified fraction of its final value if the photodetector is suddenly exposed to the radiation flux. If this fraction is chosen to be (1 -1/e = 0.63, the response time is called the time constant. 1, record 2, English, - time%20constant

2, record 2, French, - constante%20de%20temps

The ratio of the linear dimensions of the original to those of the final reproduction. References such as "half size", "quarter size", "same size", "size as", etc., relate to area and are therefore confusing and should not be used. Following are examples of preferred methods of marking copy: (a) Per cent -- such as 25% (b) Fraction -- such as 1/4 (c) 0.25X (d) Dimension marks, such as a line drawn parallel to an 8-inch dimension and marked "2 inches". All these expressions indicate that a linear dimension is to be reduced to 25% of its original length. 1, record 3, English, - reproduction%20ratio

1, record 3, French, - rapport%20de%20reproduction
