An exact place on a stringbed, usually although not always in the centre, that produces controlled power with no vibration. 3, record 1, English, - sweetspot
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Note that a stroke launched from the "sweet spot" carries maximum pace and is easier to control than one hit near the rim of the tennis racquet. In some texts a "sweetspot" stands for the ideal hitting point as well as for the slightly larger zone which includes this point; in other texts a marketing distinction is made between the (smaller) sweetspot and the larger "power zone" or "sweet zone". However today it would seem that the term "sweetspot" has become more prevalent to the point where it includes both the ideal point and the surrounding zone. 3, record 1, English, - sweetspot

Record 1, Textual support, French
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
6, record 1, French, - zone%20d%26rsquo%3Bimpact
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT

7, record 1, French, - zone%20d%26rsquo%3Bimpact

A soft steel cylinder is placed into the die-sinking press with its cone-shaped top touching the centre of the reduction matrix (negative design). A single stroke from the press imparts the design of the matrix into the block below like the effect produced by pressing a signet ring into soft wax. The resultant positive-design block, the punch is heat-hardened for use in the final step. In a similar impression process, the design of the punch is imparted to a series of steel blocks to provide the quantity of negative dies required for the coinage. 1, record 4, English, - matrix%20replication%20process

1, record 4, French, - processus%20de%20reproduction%20des%20matrices
