Further to PWGSC [Public Works and Government Services Canada] Year 2000 readiness preparations, Millennium, an upgrade to the Lotus SmartSuite, will be installed on all departmental desktops, prior to the October 1, 1999 infrastructure freeze. Millennium is certified as Year 2000 compliant and consists of upgrades to the Lotus Word Pro, Freelance Graphics, 1-2-3, Approach and Organizer applications. This upgrade will greatly facilitate opening, viewing and modifying attachments. Information regarding the new features of SmartSuite Millennium will be posted on The Source prior to the deployment.

Millennium est certifié conforme aux normes de l'an 2000 et consiste en une mise à niveau des applications Lotus Word Pro, Freelance Graphics, 1-2-3, Approach et Organizer. Cette mise à niveau facilitera grandement l'ouverture, la visualisation et la modification des fichiers joints. Des documents expliquant les nouvelles fonctions des produits SmartSuite Millennium seront publiés dans La Source avant le déploiement de la nouvelle suite de bureautique. Lotus SmartSuite Millennium Edition contient huit applications innovatrices : le tableur Lotus 1-2-3, le diffuseur de documents sur intranet FastSite, le gestionnaire de temps et de contacts Organizer, le traitement de texte Word Pro, le progiciel de présentation graphique Freelance Graphics, la base de données Approach, le logiciel multimédia ScreenCam et le gestionnaire d’informations Internet SmartCenter, sans oublier la reconnaissance vocale intégrée d’IBM ViaVoice.
