An alternative method for the more experienced skater is the snowplow or arrowhead stop. This is achieved by bringing both skates together to glide parallel, before forcing the heels outwards (keeping the toes of the skates about half a foot's length apart). The action is similar to the snowplow in skiing: bending the knees while inclining each blade on its inside edge. 2, record 1, English, - snowplow%20stop

1, record 1, French, - freinage%20en%20chasse%2Dneige
