[Brake] application operated at service rate that can be activated by one of the following safety devices of the locomotive: the overspeed control, the reset safety control (RSC) or the safety control foot valve. 2, record 2, English, - penalty%20brake%20application
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
A penalty brake application is similar to a full automatic brake application. However, this type of braking further reduces the brake pipe pressure to zero, requiring a moving train to stop and recharge the brake pipe. This type of braking occurs as a result of a “penalty” applied by the system, such as when the reset safety control (RSC) is not reset. 3, record 2, English, - penalty%20brake%20application

A system of controls for aircraft brakes that relieves hydraulic pressure at wheels that are about to skid or lock-up. 6, record 3, English, - antiskid%20system
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The anti-skid system limits the braking on each main wheel independently to allow maximum braking efficiency under all runway conditions. Basically, as a wheel almost stops rotating and is about to skid, the system detects this and reduces the braking pressure to that wheel, thus avoiding a skid. 7, record 3, English, - antiskid%20system

5, record 3, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20d%26rsquo%3Bantid%C3%A9rapage

The main-wheel brakes are controlled by two systems, designated "normal" and "alternate". Both systems are mechanically selected and hydraulically operated. Normal braking is selected by depressing toe brakes on either the pilot or co-pilot pedals. The normal brake system is supplied by hydraulic system N° 1 and contains an electrically controlled antiskid system. Alternate braking is selected by the captain through use of two hand-operated controls on the left side panel. The alternate brake system is supplied by hydraulic system N° 2 and does not have an antiskid capability. 3, record 5, English, - alternate%20brake%20system
