A nano-object with all three external dimensions in the nanoscale. 2, record 2, English, - nanoparticle
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
In biomedical applications nanoparticles are used as drug carriers or imaging agents. For this purpose the nanoparticle may have a hollow structure providing a central reservoir that can be filled with anticancer drugs, detection agents, or chemicals, known as "reporters," that can signal if a drug is having a therapeutic effect. The surface of a nanoparticle can also be adorned with various targeting agents, such as antibodies, drugs, imaging agents, and reporters. Most nanoparticles are constructed to be small enough to pass through blood capillaries and enter cells. 3, record 2, English, - nanoparticle
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Nanoparticles that are naturally occurring (e.g. volcanic ash, soot from forest fires) or are the incidental byproducts of combustion processes (e.g. welding, diesel engines) [and] are usually physically and chemically heterogeneous and often termed "ultrafine particles." Engineered nanoparticles are intentionally produced and designed with very specific properties related to shape, size, surface properties and chemistry. These properties are reflected in aerosols, colloids or powders. 4, record 2, English, - nanoparticle
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Nanoparticles are thus larger than angstroms (Å), but smaller than micrometres. At the small end of the size range, nanoparticles are often referred to as clusters (physics). 3, record 2, English, - nanoparticle
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 OBS
If the lengths of the longest to the shortest axes of the nano-object differ significantly (typically by more than three times), the term "nanofibre" or "nanoplate" is intended to be used instead of the term "nanoparticle." 2, record 2, English, - nanoparticle

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
5, record 2, French, - nanoparticule
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS

Canada-United States Transportation Border Working Group (TBWG). The 2003 Compendium contains port descriptions (ie. ownership, physical layout, annual traffic data, etc.) as well as current information on on-going, planned and proposed infrastructure projects at border crossings, including their approaches. The Compendium focused on ports of entry with dedicated commercial operations or significant non-commercial traffic. ... TBWG Compendium Subcommittee members proceeded to enhance the crossing descriptions with commodity and other new data, and all information was updated to 2004. The result is an on-line Border Infrastructure Compendium that provides a full picture of the busiest Canada-U.S. commercial land border crossings. 1, record 5, English, - Online%20Border%20Infrastructure%20Compendium

1, record 5, French, - Recueil%20de%20l%26rsquo%3Binfrastructure%20frontali%C3%A8re%20en%20ligne
