The engine nacelle is the aerodynamic structure that surrounds an aircraft engine and often contains a thrust reverser. The thrust reverser is deployed to help control a landing aircraft on normal or icy runways or during an aborted take-off.

The invention concerns a nacelle cowling for turbojet, characterized in that it is provided with a fixed part and a mobile part, the mobile part being adapted to slide along the fixed part, from a closed position wherein the mobile part extends in the extension of the fixed part, up to an open position wherein the mobile part is at least partly superimposed to the fixed part. For example, the fixed part is located in the upper part of the cowling, the mobile part being located in the lower part of said cowling.

A true pitch propeller is one that makes use of the blade-element theory. Each element (section) of the blade travels at a different rate of speed, that is, the tip sections travel faster than the sections close to the hub. When the elements (sections) are arranged so that each is set at the proper angle to the relative airstream, they all advance the same distance during any single revolution of the propeller.

Si l'on veut avoir une hélice dont toutes les sections possèdent le même pas H, il suffit de réaliser la condition r tg[ alpha]=constante=k(où alpha correspond à l'angle de calage](...) L'hélice à pas constant ainsi définie n’ est plus utilisée à l'heure actuelle; en effet, la présence du fuseau moteur réduit la vitesse de l'air au voisinage du moyeu, ce qui se traduit par la nécessité de réduire le pas dans cette région afin d’obtenir un rendement meilleur. Dès lors, il est nécessaire de définir un "profil de référence" afin de caractériser une telle hélice.
