2, record 1, French, - Gang%20Bishnoi

Furthermore, these pro-social associations, in addition to influencing the "route" the young person takes, are also a source of learning. The associations teach individuals the "tricks of the trade" whether they be pro-social, for example how to study effectively. On the other hand, a young person who is surrounded by family members already well ensconced in a gang lifestyle, surrounded by poverty and unemployment, associating with friends who skip school and instead make money by drug running, is more likely to follow the illegitimate/criminal route characterizing the lifestyle of his or her close associates.

1, record 2, French, - prosocial

The Labeling Theory suggests that those deviants labeled as such begin to view themselves as deviants, even if they were not originally a deviant. Some individuals are even considered guilty by association. And so, future deviants are manufactured through society's labeling. Self-concept and self-esteem is greatly affected and lowered by the labels that society places on these individuals. 3, record 3, English, - labelling

... a successful exit strategy requires having the kind of meaningful economic and social opportunities that are gained from special education and job training/placement programs. Young people join gangs for any number of reasons including the desire or need for money (e.g., through shared profits from drug trafficking and other activities). But even though a gang member might want to leave their gang, he or she might lack the social competency or skill set that is required to make a successful transition away from the gang lifestyle. 3, record 4, English, - gang%20exit%20strategy

3, record 4, French, - strat%C3%A9gie%20de%20sortie%20d%26rsquo%3Bun%20gang
