The term lunar soil is often used interchangeably with "lunar regolith" but typically refers to the finer fraction of regolith, that which is composed of grains one centimeter in diameter or less. Some have argued that the term "soil" is not correct in reference to the Moon because soil is defined as having organic content, whereas the Moon has none. However, standard usage among lunar scientists is to ignore that distinction. Lunar dust generally connotes even finer materials than lunar soil, the fraction which is less than 30 micrometres in diameter. 2, record 1, English, - lunar%20dust

2, record 1, French, - poussi%C3%A8re%20lunaire

The Microgravity Science Glovebox (MSG) is a joint development project between NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA). The double rack unit is a versatile research facility designed to permit the flexibility of crew-manipulated investigations. Its configuration has been planned around the concept of an experimental workstation where a variety of experiments can be installed and operated in a fashion very similar to their operation in a ground-based laboratory. ... Specifically, the facility provides a large enclosed work volume, power, video, photography, vacuum connections, heat rejection, stowage, filtered air, gaseous nitrogen, lighting, airlock access, physical positioning and hold-down attachments, and computer data acquisition and control capabilities. 3, record 2, English, - microgravity%20science%20glovebox

The MSG [Microgravity Science Glovebox] is a containment facility designed for supporting a wide range of microgravity science investigations and demonstrations. In the sealed mode, the MSG serves as a single level of containment by providing a physical barrier. In the air circulation mode the MSG serves as a one failure tolerant containment by providing a physical barrier and a negative pressure relative to the cabin. The MSG further facilitates investigations by providing many of the resources that are typically used by microgravity science investigations. 4, record 2, English, - microgravity%20science%20glovebox

EVA Gloves (left and right). If you look at the bottom of an EVA glove, you'll see that it has a ring. This ring is used to snap onto the sleeve of the upper torso. It also contains a wrist bearing that is used to help the astronaut rotate his hand. On the opposite end of the glove are rubber finger caps. The scientists chose silicone rubber so that the astronauts could have some sense of touch when working with equipment and tools. Along the gloves are loops. Tethers connected to small tools can be latched onto the loops to prevent the items from floating off into space. The astronauts also like to wear thin fabric comfort gloves with wristlets band of materials worn for warmth within their EVA gloves. 3, record 3, English, - EVA%20glove

1, record 4, French, - gant%20autochauffant

Thermal barrier through fibres with PCM incorporated microcapsules ... fibres incorporating Phase Change Material (PCM) microcapsules; these are added to the polymer solution prior to spinning. The fibres block the thermal flow, accumulating heat over long periods and limit heat losses at low temperatures. This barrier effect ... is far superior to compressed aerated insulators ... Conceived of the NASA astronauts gloves, these fibres find naturally applications in the apparel and protective clothing sectors. 1, record 5, English, - astronauts%27%20gloves

1, record 5, French, - gants%20d%27astronautes
