Methyl Red Voges Proskauer Test (MR-VP) - differentiates members of family Enterobacteriaciae based on ability to produce acid end products from fermentation of glucose. Enterobacteriaciae divided into two groups based on type of formic acid fermentation performed. 1.) Mixed acid type formic acid fermentation - results in production of ethanol and lactic, acetic, succinic, and formic acids as fermentation end products. If mixed acid fermentor, then when Methyl Red added to inoculated broth, medium turns red. If butanediol fermentor, then the color of the medium will change to yellow. Butanediol fermentor yields orange/yellow color after addition methyl red. 2.) Butanediol fermentors produce acidic fermentation products. 5, record 9, English, - mixed%20acid%20fermentation

4, record 10, French, - m%C3%A9tabolisme%20acide%20des%20crassulac%C3%A9es

To maximize isotopic exchange, it is very important that the [hydrogen sulphide] in the units be maintained at a very high purity (99.5%). Unfortunately, the natural water, although treated, still contains small quantities of dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and other gases. If not removed continuously, these gases would accumulate and decrease the [hydrogen sulphide] purity. A continuous gas purge is drawn from the top of each firs stage cold tower and send to the purge tower where the [hydrogen sulphide] is absorbed by the incoming water. The gaseous impurities proceed from the purge tower to the absorber where any remaining [hydrogen sulphide] is absorbed. The gases, essentially [hydrogen sulphide] free, are then flared. The flare is used in this case to burn any [hydrogen sulphide] that might not have been absorbed. 1, record 14, English, - gaseous%20impurity
