English

Subject field(s)
  • Symptoms (Medicine)
DEF

A speckling of a blood cell or other structure with fine dots when exposed to the action of a basic stain, due to the presence of free basophil granules in the cell protoplasm.

OBS

The term "punctate basophilia" was recommended by the Medical Signs and Symptoms Committee.

French

Domaine(s)

DEF

Domaine(s)
  • Cytologie

English

Subject field(s)
  • Cytology
  • Immunology
CONT

... the "Human Basophil Degranulation Test," ... Basophils contain granules which are made of histamine and other chemicals which can elicit symptoms of allergy when they are released or degranulated. A substance to which a person is allergic causes degranulation of the basophils. There are certain substances which will cause anybody's basophils to degranulate. IgE is a special type of antibody which causes the release/degranulation of basophils, and "anti- IgE" is an artificial (man-made) antibody that can have a similar effect as IgE.

  • Immunologie
CONT

The material consisting of granular endoplasmic reticulum and ribosomes which occurs in nerve cell bodies and dendrites.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Système nerveux
  • Cytologie
DEF
