Record 1 2017-11-20

English

Subject field(s)
  • Physics
  • The Sun (Astronomy)
DEF

Bright region, observed preferentially in white light near the limb, that spreads over a large area in the neighborhood of a spot group.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Physique
  • Soleil (Astronomie)
DEF

DEF

Limb observed bright convective cells, often appearing in clusters or chains, that are more closely packed and that have much longer lifetimes than the surrounding photospheric granules.

CONT

... not all facular granules occur in clusters: many occur as completely isolated structures, surrounded by photospheric granules of normal brightness.

Domaine(s)
  • Physique

CONT
