Rotation [in this device] is thus measured without the use of a spinning mass. 8, record 1, English, - laser%20gyro
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 OBS
The laser gyro is not technically a gyro since it has no rotating mass; however, it functions as a rate-integrating gyro. 9, record 1, English, - laser%20gyro
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 3 OBS
A laser gyro has several advantages over a mechanical gyro system. The overall unit can be made smaller, lighter, and more sensitive. Also, because it has no moving parts it is less likely to break down and so is more reliable. 10, record 1, English, - laser%20gyro

7, record 1, French, - gyrolaser
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
4, record 1, French, - gyrolaser
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
9, record 1, French, - gyrolaser
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
