Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The properties of fluid films depend on the nature of the film phase and that of each of the two neighbouring bulk phases. These films should be described, where appropriate, by three capital letters such as A for air, W for water, O for oil, and S for solid, separated by solidi, the middle letter indicating the film phase. For symmetrical films the first and last symbols are the same, e.g. A/W/A: water film in air, or W/O/W: oil film in water ... 1, record 2, English, - symmetrical%20film

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS

For example, milk is an emulsion of butterfat (dispersed) and water (continuous) with casein acting as the emulsifying agent. This type of emulsion is referred to as an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion. Most herbicidal emulsions are of the O/W type. 8, record 3, English, - oil%2Din%2Dwater%20emulsion

Most oil-field emulsions consist of water dispersed in oil, hence the term "reverse emulsion" for an emulsion of globules of oil dispersed in water. Not to be confused with "invert emulsion," which is a water-in-oil emulsion. 9, record 3, English, - oil%2Din%2Dwater%20emulsion
