L'interprétation d’une œuvre musicale consiste à partir du texte écrit fourni par le compositeur, à restituer non seulement la matérialité sonore des signes graphiques, mais aussi et surtout la pensée vivante, formelle et expressive qui s’y trouve virtuellement contenue. La question peut être envisagée selon deux perspectives distinctes : 1) une perspective musicologique ou historique visant à définir l'optique particulière selon laquelle était conçu et utilisé le document noté à une époque et en un lieu déterminés; 2) une perspective esthétique s’efforçant de mettre en lumière et de préciser, dans la généralité, les conditions mêmes de l'interprétation ainsi que l'attitude personnelle de l'interprète face à l'œuvre. 1, record 5, French, - interpr%C3%A9tation
